New online branch reflects feel of brick-and-mortar locations

Stepping outside the norm, especially in the traditionally conservative banking industry, requires a commitment from every employee of a bank or credit union.

So when Horicon Bank hired BrownBoots to create and develop a custom bank website design to match the feeling customers get when walking into one of their branches, we were impressed and excited at their willingness to embrace creativity. But we also knew the request was a tall order since their branches have many wonderful features, including:

  • Marsh plants on display behind the reception area
  • Unique architectural features spanning contemporary design in Oshkosh to a beautiful restoration of a historic building for their Horicon branch
  • The Blue Goose Coffee House inside the Fond du Lac location
  • Hand-made quilts that are proudly displayed at several branches

We are very pleased to present the new Horicon Bank website ( The main featured image of the Horicon Marsh not only ties into geographical location, but also the bank’s brand.

The website includes five standard financial calculators and connects the locations of both branches and ATMs via Google Maps. This is a fully responsive bank website, which means it looks great on smartphones, tablets and desktop screens. It also is integrated with BrownBoots’ simple CMS (content management system), giving Horicon Bank the control it needs to maintain and manage website content as the bank continues to grow.

Horicon Bank also requested BrownBoots’ audit reporting tool, which tracks changes to files and webpage elements by taking a snapshot of the webpage and saving it as a PDF file after the page is published so that auditors can review a page before and after edits are made.

The client’s insistence for creativity and willingness to step out of the box can be found throughout the Horicon Bank branches. We are proud to bring the same feeling to their online branch.
